teach bhava vinyasa yoga

The Intersection between Thoughtful Vinyasa and Anjali Restorative Yoga…

Anjali’s Bhava Vinyasa follows the principles and guiding vision of Anjali Restorative Yoga with its life affirming language, poetic imagery, and intrinsic healing peace. It is a deeply nurturing, wellspring filling practice that answers the fluid call of body and breath done in pervasive movement to end in peaceful relaxation.

One of the hallmarks of Anjali Yoga, is the offering, the invitation to grace, the graceful upturned foot of the dancing breath and embodied spirit. In essence we let the breath churn us through the most reverent reminders that we are present, perfect in imperfection, held and connected to all that exists around us, through us, and to us. We are beings within the fullness of time and our movement through that practice of attention and intention allows us to appreciate ourselves BECAUSE of everything we have been through, not in spite of a moment of it.

In Bhava Vinyasa, the healing power of embodied breath informs this elegant practice to be potent and rich and radiant with a reach into our very reflection of how we see ourselves. The practice is a vinyasa linking strength and aligned grace through posture-to-posture and breath-to-breath with a sweet and steady current of images, ideas, and provocative moments of self-reflection. The session is split to include half time spent in movement of a well-guided dynamic nature mirrored by the later half of class in sustained, gentle Anjali Restorative Yoga poses.

The collective session will rest in the radical reflection of body to breath and breath to body. It will serve the call to move and the call to rest. It will sustain an experience of a deliberate healing state and will allow the practitioner time within sequences, postures, and guided meditations on bolsters to contemplate radical states of well-being, peace, and a soothed center.

The practice is perfect for practitioners of all levels as the focus will sit in the generous space between thoughtfully aligned poses to broaden one’s attention and awareness to the shapes and gestures we assume in the world. The first ½ of the practice is in the flowing, aligning, and releasing vinyasa and the second ½ of the practice is done in reclining and supported postures.
