What this means to you, our öm time community! While our efforts at all of our öm time yoga center locations are grand in reducing our carbon emissions and waste, due to the nature of business itself, every action can not be 100% carbon neutral on it's own. Through carbondfund.org, we have offset well over 70 tons of carbon emissions bringing us to a carbon neutral status!
That offsets: -ALL of the energy use for the studio and store!
-All of the printing and paper used for our schedules and events!
-All of the shipping for our products!
-We've also included an estimation of YOUR travel to and from the studio for classes!
In addition to ALL of the above, we are offsetting the travel of our National Presenters that come to teach in our studios, to and from Denver and all of their local travel and lodging!
What Are Carbon Offsets
Carbon offsets enable anyone to reduce their climate footprint by supporting projects that reduce carbon dioxide emissions to balance out one's own carbon footprint. We all are responsible for carbon dioxide emissions through the use of energy such as; driving, heating and cooling our homes, or watching TV. Carbon offsetting is the act of reducing an equal amount of carbon somewhere else to counterbalance the carbon emissions from your energy-using activities.
Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Reforestation
Carbonfund.org supports three types of carbon offset projects: renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation. Each type plays an important role in the fight against climate change. The projects Carbonfund.org supports meet the same high standards that thousands of companies, organizations, and governments rely on to ensure quality environmental protection.
Renewable Energy – supports clean energy development, such as wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass.
Energy Efficiency – reduces existing energy use, much of which comes from coal, oil, and natural gas.
Reforestation – absorbs existing CO2 emissions, which helps to reduce the excess greenhouse gases that humans have added to the atmosphere.
